The Universe Within is a self portrait illustration based on a feeling that has always stayed with me: I feel most comfortable when I’m alone, or when I’m with someone I love in a quiet place at night. I wanted to turn that feeling into a visual world and show the kind of space that feels most peaceful to me.
To express that, I created a faceless figure and placed a room inside the body, turning the piece into both a self portrait and a portrait of my inner world. The ring around the head symbolizes my love for the night, and the room inside represents the quiet, intimate atmosphere I associate with comfort and closeness. Inside that space, I illustrated myself spending time with someone I love, reflecting the kind of moment that feels safest and most familiar to me.
Built from a personal mood board, the piece uses pastel pinks, purples, and blues to create a dreamy nighttime atmosphere. Through these colors and symbols, I wanted the illustration to feel soft, personal, and full of the quiet warmth I return to most.
